Temple HS Baseball Coach Kenny Walker Passes Away Leaving Behind His Family

Kenny Walker, who coached both basketball and baseball at Mount Zion Eagles from 2017 to 2026, has tragically died.

According to Kenny Walker’s official handle, he received his bachelor’s degree in social studies from the University of West Georgia in 1987.

Later, he received a master’s degree in secondary education and teaching in 1993.

From June 2011 to June 2015, he was the head boys basketball coach at Haralson County High School. Later, he served as the head boys basketball coach at Oak Mountain Academy Inc.

In June 2017, he joined Mt. Zion High School as an assistant basketball and baseball coach and left in 2026.

He became a color commentator for High School Football at Gradick Communications.

Coach Kenny Walker Died, Leaving Everyone Devastated

As per the reports, Coach Kenny Walker passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2026. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

The Temple High School baseball team took to its official Facebook handle to the tragic news. They wrote,

The Temple Community lost a legend today. Coach Kenny Walker was a beloved part of our community. He was loved by his players and coaches. Coach Walker has been a staple of Temple Athletics and will truly be missed. Words can’t express how much he meant to everyone in the Temple Baseball family. Nobody will be able to call a pitch like the Coach Walker. “Fastball Middle”. We love ya Coach Walker. Till we meet again!!

Mount Zion High School also took to its social media handle and offered its heartfelt condolences. They wrote,

The world lost a good one today. We are saddened to announce the passing of Coach Kenny Walker. Coach Walker was an incredible man with a gift for teaching and coaching. He was a life changer and a difference maker. Despite being retired, Coach Walker never lost his energy or passion for teaching and coaching. He coached both basketball and baseball at MZHS from 2017-2026 and even was the voice of the Eagles on Friday night radio for Hometown Sports. Coach Walker was loved by us all and we will miss him tremendously. Go rest high on that mountain Coach. We are forever grateful for the impact you made!!

Anthony Angle, a special education teacher at Haralson County High School, took to his Facebook and the loss of Kenny. He stated,

This one hurts 💔. Coach Walker gave me my first coaching job at HC. The man loved his players like family and went above and beyond for them. No matter what school he was at he gave his all. I’m grateful that he gave me a shot as a young 23 year old that thought he had it all figured out. Rest easy until we meet again. Coach.

Kristian Boyd, an owner and founder at Kristian Boyd Photography, the time he played under coach Kenny. He wrote,

This man was more than a coach! He took us off the court and made us create real bonds and brotherhood ship with each other.. cooked for us , took us to college games , final 4 high school play offs.. Definitely was a real one!

Other close ones and relatives have also poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Kenny’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

Although Kenny’s family lived away from the media spotlight, they always helped Kenny achieve his goals.

He will always be remembered for his unforgettable contribution as a coach at Mt. Zion High School and Temple High School.

The funeral service schedule will soon be made available by his family. Rest in Peace, Kenny Walker.
