Sophie Segreti, a contestant from Survivor 49, has the support of his parents to join the reality show. Her mother, Martha, made her bean bags for her practice to challenge things for the journey.

She had always wished to join a reality series since watching Survivor: All-Stars when she was 9.

Sophie Segreti is among the castaways vying for the million-dollar prize and the title of Sole Survivor.

She is a proud graduate of Quince Orchard High School and a standout student-athlete, particularly in swimming and diving. She was a two-year team captain and four-year letterwinner.

Moreover, she made four appearances at the Maryland 3A-4A state championships. Her commitment was recognized with multiple accolades, such as the 2012 team MVP award, the 2011 Coaches Award, and the Team Most Improved Award in 2009.

Sophie was also part of the school’s record-holding 200 medley relay team before moving on to Washington University in St. Louis.

Sophie Segreti’s Biggest Fans are Her Supportive Parents

Sophie Segreti, the daughter of John and Martha Segreti, was born on January 20, 1994, in New York. Currently, she resides in Darnestown, Maryland.

Her journey to becoming a castaway on Survivor didn’t start in the wilderness, but it started at home.

Sophie was a lifelong superfan of Survivor, growing up watching the show with her family and dreaming of one day playing the game herself.

Her dream became a mission, which was fueled by a fire that ignited when she was an alternate for a previous season.

Later, Sophie was determined to earn her spot, and her parents supported her journey.

She inherited a handy and competitive spirit from her father, John, who was a big Do It Yourself (DIY) guy. He taught her to fix almost anything, a skill she uses to this day in her own apartment.

This self-reliance gave her the confidence to believe she could handle the harsh conditions of Survivor.

On the other hand, her mother, Martha, played a crucial role in preparing her for the adventure.

She even helped her practice for challenges, making her bean bags and gathering household items like blocks and cups for her to train with.

Sophie Segreti is ready to utilize her skills to bring people together and compete for the title of Sole Survivor, thanks to her family’s encouragement and her own fierce determination.

Sophie Segreti’s Biggest Inspiration is Her Mother, Martha

The greatest lesson in perseverance and passion for Sophie Segreti came from watching her mother, Martha.

Martha was not just a mom, but a force of nature.

Martha pursued her PhD while raising four busy children.

Her goal was to become a professor while continuing her work as a physical therapist. She fulfilled her dream with determination, juggling the demands of family and an intense academic program, which was no small feat.

She was able to teach her children not only through words but also through her actions.

Martha showed them a powerful truth “noone is never too old to try something new and succeed at it” by chasing her own ambitious dream later in life.

Her idea became a guiding principle for Sophie.
