Jesse Chavez, an American professional baseball pitcher, has been making headlines following the announcement of his retirement after 18 seasons in the big leagues.

During an appearance on “Foul Territoryon Thursday, July 24, 2026, Jesse Chavez stated:

“As of now, I don’t think we’re going to keep going. I think this is it. Time to turn the page and focus on the next chapter of life.”

His retirement comes two weeks after he was designated for assignment by the Braves.

While many were surprised by Jesse Chavez’s retirement, he’s had the constant support of his longtime wife, Crystal Chavez, throughout the decision.
