Brian Vollman from Springtown, TX, recently shared a Facebook post raising concerns about the ongoing investigation into the Springtown ISD coach.
In the post, he said the coach was forced to resign from the school district due to alleged inappropriate conduct toward a student.
The case is still under investigation by the Texas Education Agency.
Brian questioned why the same coach is still allowed to coach basketball for the local Lions Club.
His post asked parents whether this should be acceptable and said children need protection through action, not just through prayer, after something bad happens.
Springtown, TX, Parent Raises Questions After Resigned Coach Was Allowed to Coach in Local League
According to Brian Vollman’s post, the coach was forced to resign due to misconduct involving a student.
While he did not mention the coach’s name or the full details of the incident, some commenters claimed the coach was seen holding hands with a female student athlete.
As of now, the concerned authorities and the Springtown Independent School District have not released any official statement regarding the case.
Because no official information has been shared, community members in the comments expressed their own thoughts and concerns about the situation.
Some people supported Brian for sharing the post and said that the coach should step down until proven innocent.
One user in the comment event wrote;
The coach should voluntarily step down from any and all interactive positions until the case is closed. This not only speaks to the degradation that he is accused of but the morals and ethics that he carries. Skills and secular accomplishments should never replace a set standard of personal morals and ethics of your character. Smh .. the fact that this isn’t understood as simply the reasonable thing to do is testament to the failing honor of our society.
On the other hand, a few people disagreed with Brian’s post. They said that since the case is still pending, it is not fair to blame the coach.
Some even accused Brian of having a personal agenda against him. In the same post, one comment reads:
You have a personal vendetta against this man for some reason. If it’s “under investigation” why not let it be handled by the authorities and leave this alone instead of constantly bashing him and his sweet family!?!? He wouldn’t be allowed to coach if any wrong doings were found! The girl in question and her family have said many times nothing in appropriate happened! Geez
While most commenters said the coach should step down from the Lions Club until the case is closed, a few disagreed.
Since the authorities have not made any announcements, the Springtown Independent School District community is concerned about the safety of their children.
