Shane Victorino, an American former professional baseball outfielder, married Melissa Smith in November 2009, and they have two children.
Melissa is supportive of his athletic career, and they run the Shane Victorino Foundation.

Shane, nicknamed “the Flyin’ Hawaiian,” played baseball at St. Anthony High School and signed a letter of intent to play college baseball for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.
June Jones offered him a scholarship to play for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team after the Los Angeles Dodgers selected him in the sixth round in the 1999 MLB draft.
On June 8, 1999, he signed with the Dodgers and played in the minor league system, reaching Double-A with the Jacksonville Suns of the Southern League in 2002.
Later, the Philadelphia Phillies selected him in the Rule 5 draft on December 13, 2004, and assigned him to their Triple-A minor league club, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons of the International League.
He played for the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels, and Chicago Cubs before announcing his retirement on July 3, 2018.
He signed a one-day contract with Philadelphia on August 3, so he could retire as a member of the Phillies.

Shane Victorino found love off the field with his wife, Melissa Smith Victorino. The couple’s story began in Las Vegas, where Melissa had moved from her hometown of Soldotna, Alaska, to attend college.
Before meeting Shane, Melissa was a single mother to her son, , from a previous relationship.

Shane and Melissa tied the knot in November 2009, but their journey as parents started even earlier.
On March 30, 2007, they welcomed their first child together, a daughter,. Three years later, on October 1, 2010, their son was born.
The family splits their time between Las Vegas during the off-season and wherever Shane’s career takes them.
Since Shane retired from professional baseball, Melissa has shared that his transition to post-baseball life has been smoother than expected.
Now what I’ve been doing for years, he’s excited about doing that. He’s jumped into this new role full speed ahead, though, he’s very full speed ahead in everything.
The former outfielder has taken on a hands-on role as a dad, often accompanying the kids to school and their various activities.
While he once coached Kingston’s baseball team, he has since stepped back, allowing his son to explore different sports without pressure.
I’m by far the dad who wants to be the inspiration for my son, but I understand. Yes, truthfully I got to live it and that was great, but at the end of it I know that number is very, very minimal. I know he’s going to get the chances, but it’s also a bigger platform because there’s expectations.
The Victorino family has made the most of their time together by traveling extensively. Over the past year, they’ve visited Alaska, Thailand, London, Italy, and Spain.
Melissa revealed that before their trips, Shane had never been to Europe, making their family adventures even more special.
Nonetheless, Melissa Victorino remains a steady presence in Shane’s life, supporting him through his career transitions and sharing the joys of family life.
Shane Victorino And Melissa Smith Founded The Shane Victorino Foundation
After reaching Major League Baseball, Shane Victorino knew he wanted to use his success to make a difference.
Alongside his wife, Melissa Smith, who shared the same passion for philanthropy, the couple laid the groundwork for what would become the Shane Victorino Foundation.
Before officially establishing the foundation in spring 2010, they had already been involved in charitable work, including organizing a celebrity golf tournament in Maui to support local children’s causes.
This experience helped prepare them for the larger commitment of running a foundation.
One of the foundation’s first major projects was a $1 million pledge to renovate the Nicetown Boys & Girls Club in Philadelphia. On September 22, 2011, the club reopened as the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club.
It features a media center, study rooms, a gym, and teen programs. This revitalized space provided a safe, enriching environment for youth, offering programs in education, leadership, health, and sports.
I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the communities that have given so much to me. Over the past few years, Melissa and I have lent our support to a number of great organizations. However, we wanted to make an even bigger impact by starting a foundation focused on changing the lives of children in need.
In 2013, the foundation funded the construction of the Shane Victorino Foundation Batting Cage at Waipio Neighborhood Park in Hawaii, in recognition of the local Little League’s success.
The $25,000 grant, along with donations from local businesses, helped create a state-of-the-art training facility for young athletes.
The Shane Victorino Foundation continues to make a lasting impact, proving that success in sports can serve as a platform for meaningful change.
Shane and Melissa Victorino are helping shape brighter futures for children in Philadelphia, Hawaii, and beyond through education, sports, and community support.
The Hawaiian community has been so supportive of me and my family and I am honored to be able to give back and provide opportunities for children. I am especially excited to be able to provide these batting cages that will hopefully help other keiki further develop baseball skills and passion for the sport I love so much.
