Devin McCourty, a 37-year-old former professional football player, turned his college sweetheart, Michelle Powell, into his life partner when the two tied the knot in 2016.

Born on August 13, 1987, McCourty is a retired NFL safety best known for his remarkable 13-season career with the New England Patriots.

Selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Rutgers University, McCourty quickly emerged as one of the league’s premier defensive players, leaving an indelible mark on the game.

A versatile and reliable safety, he missed only five games throughout his career. Moreover, he earned two Pro Bowl selections and was a cornerstone of the Patriots’ defense. 

He helped the team secure three Super Bowl victories (XLIX, LI, and LIII). McCourty holds the record for the most postseason starts by a defensive player. 

Known for his leadership, he was a team captain for 12 consecutive seasons. His ability to excel in both pass coverage and run defense made him an integral part of Bill Belichick’s defensive schemes.

Off the field, McCourty contributed significantly to the community and NFL initiatives, advocating for social justice and education reform. 

Alongside his twin brother, Jason McCourty—also a former NFL player and teammate—Devin co-hosts the podcast Double Coverage and remains active in charity work.

Since retiring on March 10, 2026, McCourty has joined NBC’s Football Night in America as a commentator, continuing his connection to the sport. 

Devin McCourty Has Been Married To His Wife For Almost A Decade

Devin McCourty’s wife, Michelle Powell McCourty, is a former medical professional. Michelle has been a supportive partner in his life.

Born on March 18, 1988, in Syosset, New Jersey, Michelle earned her M.D. from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Furthermore, she pursued a residency in emergency medicine. She worked as an emergency physician but later transitioned to focus on her family.

Devin his wife while attending Rutgers University. Their relationship, which started as a friendship, blossomed into a romance.

Ultimately, Devin to Michelle in a memorable Disney-themed setting.

It was complete with glass slippers and a heartfelt gesture.

However, tragically, they experienced the Mia during pregnancy in 2026, a deeply emotional moment for the family.

Dev and I suffered the most painful experience of our lives,My pregnancy had resulted in a still birth at almost 8 months of being pregnant — at exactly 31 weeks 2 days when we found out that the baby girl growing inside me no longer had a heart beat after being completely fine the week before at my last doctor’s appt.
