In her 2026 season, she recorded 649 kills with an impressive .428 hitting percentage and contributed 276 digs.

She has also added 89 blocks and 44 service aces, highlighting her versatility on the court.

Her exceptional performance played a significant role in leading her team to multiple TAPPS 6A state championships.

Due to her extraordinary talent, Macaria was named the 2026 AVCA Girls High School Player of the Year.

Regarding her father, born on March 8, 1983, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Marcus Spears played for the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens during his NFL career.

Nicknamed “Swagu,” he is a former professional football player who made a significant impact in the NFL as a defensive end.

He was initially drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

Before his professional career, he was a standout athlete at Louisiana State University, where he earned consensus All-American honors and played a key role in LSU’s national championship season in 2003.

After retiring from the NFL in 2013, Marcus transitioned into a career in sports media.

He is now a prominent sports analyst on ESPN, frequently appearing on shows like NFL Live, First Take, and SportsCenter.

On the other hand, her mother, Aiysha Smith, is a former professional basketball player who played for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. She was drafted seventh overall in the 2003 WNBA Draft.

Prior to her professional career, Aiysha was a standout basketball player at Louisiana State University, where she earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2002 and All-SEC honorable mention in 2003.

During her college days, she was an alternate on the Team USA squad for the 2001 World University Games.
