The NCAA reportedly reconsidering the rule changes after the Oregon Ducks set a trick in the final game against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday by sending 12 defenders onto the field, resulting in a penalty.
According to Yahoo Sports reports, Oregon Ducks called a timeout when the Buckeyes were trying to get a score in the last 10 seconds of the game.
The NCAA Rules Committee is examining the loophole that Oregon coaches used against Ohio State, a committee official tells . They could take in-season action to address the play by directing officials to handle it differently in the future.

Later, after the timeout, Oregon put 12 players on the field for a third-down play, resulting in an incomplete pass, blocking the Buckeyes’ chance of scoring and winning. Oregon’s move resulted in a penalty, but it played a significant role in their 32-31 win against the Buckeyes.
But now, the NCAA is scrutinizing the game strategy, as many report that Oregon coaches took advantage of a loophole in the rulebook.
But in contrast, NCAA Secretary Rules editor Steve Shaw addressed the matter on a positive note and said to Yahoo Sports,
“We’ve had good dialogue on this play. We’ve recognized the way it played out.
ViaSteve further stated that the NCAA Playing Rules Committee is actively examining the game to improve its rule by some changes in the future so that if something similar occurs in the coming days, they can handle it more effectively.
Meanwhile, many sports enthusiasts appear to be receiving the Ducks’ move as a genius tactic to play. Predictive NFL analytics at SharpFootballAnalysis.com, Warren Sharp shared a game between Ohio and Oregon on his Twitter handle and tweeted,
you NEED to watch how genius this is 👀:10 left, Oregon calls a timeout
they intentionally add a 12th man late to ensure no big gain occurs..ball is snapped, no big gain..obviously it’s a penalty BUT
1) :04 ticks off clock
2) no big gain
:06 left only time for 1 play

Two days later, Shanon again retweeted supporting Oregon Ducks’ coach Dan Lanning, writing;
some people denied coach was smart enough to intentionally put 12 men on the field they were wrong. Lanning just confirmed it tonight at his presser: “We spend an inordinate amount of time on situations. This was one that obviously we worked on, so you can see the result.

Beneath in the commentary section, people left the mixed reaction. While some said that Coach Dan made an intelligent move by putting 12 players on the field, others said that it was bullshit, unsportsmanlike conduct, and many others.
Well, whatever the audience’s response, the controversial game between Oregon and Ohio State has led the NCAA to rethink its rulebook.
