Erik Gustafsson, who was born on March 14th, 1992, is a defenceman of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL).
He began his career in Hockey in Nynäshamns and was eventually selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round, 93rd overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Even though he was selected by Edmonton Oilers in 2012, he made his NHL debut after three years against the Minnesota Wild.

Later, on February 2026, he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Rasmus Sandin.
Throughout his career, he has played with several teams, including Chicago Blackhawks, Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens, and Washington Capitals.
The talented ice hockey player also represented Sweden at the 2016 IIHF World Championship.
