College basketball star Mark Sears and his parents have appeared on several sports media channels and have already gained attention on social media. If Mark is getting the attention for his basketball skills then his parents are getting it for their unceasing support.
Sears began his basketball journey at Muscle Shoals High School in Alabama before joining Ohio University in 2026.
Across two seasons at Ohio, Sears played 59 games in two seasons and scored 884 career points.
As a sophomore, Sear was also nominated for the Lou Henson Award as he finished the year averaging 19.7 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.

Mark Sears’ parents, Chad and Lameka Sears, previously shared about their profession in an interview with The Next Round.
The point guard’s dad, Chad Sears, and basketball at Russellville High, and he later joined the University of North Alabama.
Sears Sr. joined UNA Lions in 1995 but played between 1997-2000. Chad had walked back on playing in 1996 and re-joined the team in 1997.
In 2002, he signed with the Buffalo Bills and was assigned to NFL Europe’s Amsterdam Admirals.
However, Chad injured his back during the practice session and decided not to pursue a career as a football player.
The former footballer returned to college, completed his degree, and started serving in the Russellville Parks and Recreation Director position in 2006.
He served in that position until 2026, and in 2026, while speaking to, the interviewer introduced him as a fourth-grade teacher.
The interviewer also introduced Lameka as a traveling nurse who worked rigorously to save lives during COVID-19.

The free throw routine started when Mark was three.
In her interview with The Next Round, Lameka shared that when Mark was a kid, she would allude that he was trying to get a cookie from the cookie jar and motion him how to do it.
Lameka said she lost the verbiage when Mark started getting older, but when he began playing basketball at college, Lameka told him to focus on basics and not do too much.
Being a vocal supporter of her son, Lameka is used to sharing appreciation posts for her son on her social media handle.
After Mark was benched in the second half against LSU, Lameka commented on the situation on Facebook.
In a lengthy , Lameka wrote that as a mother, she disagreed with Coach Oats’ decision but said she recognizes and respects his decision.
Lameka also wrote that Mark’s emotional reaction to being benched stems from him and his teammates giving their all every night.
She also clarified that her son isn’t entitled and understands the value of hard work and a strong work ethic.
Lameka capped off the post by saying that Alabama fans’ support means the world to her and her family and that Mark is committed to supporting his teammates.
The mother-of-two certainly wants to see her son and Alabama basketball team win the National Championship and wants Mark to give his all on this road to glory.
