Mario Edwards is back to the field with $11.55M deal

As per the sources, DE Mario Edwards has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Chicago Bears worth $11.55 million, marking his return.

After years of shakiness in different teams, has found his firm footing at Chicago Bears now with a new extended contract. 

As the Pro Football Talk announced the deal between Bears and Edwards, from ESPN confirmed it to be a three-year deal. Indeed, the team has now figured out it’s rooting and has locked Edwards with it. 

Additionally, Ian Rapoport from NFL Networks detailed the contract signed between them. 

What does the contract bring?

According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the contract will earn Edwards $4 million per year. However, for the first year, he is set to gain $4.5 million. 

Not to mention, it is also surely the way that has repurchased Mario Edwards to the team. Indeed, it stands as the most productive season in his career.

Edwards will be missing out first two games in 2026

As we all know, why Mario Edwards was out of the NFL for the time being, thus, now he is back, but he will miss a few. Well, it is set that the athlete will be missing out first two games of the regular season in 2026. 

Indeed, he has been suspended after violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. Moreover, as the League announced his suspension, Edwards was allowed to participate in preseason games and practices.

According to the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office in North Carolina, Edwards was involved in the Hilton Charlotte City Center hotel incident. Apparently, it was just a night before the Bears game over the Carolina Panthers.

As per the investigation, Edwards and the victim were both filled with bruises and scratches. Additionally, the woman accused Edwards of assaulting her during an argument.

As the woman was hospitalized, the North Carolina court charged him with misdemeanor assault stemming from an incident. However, Edwards agent repeatedly denied any wrongdoing on Edwards’ part.
