Lauren Sweeney, A Talented Victory Vipers Cheerleader, Tragically Lost Her Life At 21

The 21 year old Lauren Sweeney passed away at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Lauren M. Sweeney, a resident of New Britain, recently passed away on Friday, January 10, 2026, at the untimely age of 21, leaving her family and loved ones devastated.

Born in March 2003 in Sewell, New Jersey, to father Greg and mother Carol Ann Broll Sweeney, Lauren Sweeney was an amazing human being actively involved in charity work and was everyone’s favorite.

Lauren Sweeney was presently a senior at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she was pursuing her degree in exercise science and planning to become a Physical Therapist.

She was in May this year and planned to attend Arcadia University to pursue her doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Prior to USC, she attended Herma Simos Elementary School in Clayton, New Jersey, moved to Bucks County in 2016, and graduated from Central Bucks West High School in 2026.

Moreover, Lauren Sweeney not only excelled in her education but also was a great cheerleader.

Lauren Sweeney followed her passion as a cheerleader from a very young age and participated in many All-Star Cheerleading Gyms, including the South Jersey Storm and Victory Vipers.

In response to her untimely demise, Lauren’s former cheerleading group, Victory Vipers, took to their to share their heartfelt condolence to her family.

“Today, we had to say goodbye to our alumni, Lauren Sweeney. She has left her mark on our gym and our heart forever.”

Likewise, in the comment sections of the post, many shared their heartfelt prayers to her family and loved ones.

One wrote:

“My heart is still broken for the Sweeney family and all those who became family with the Sweeneys. The Do It For Lauren can be as simple as always showing up with a smile, because she certainly did.”

Although the family hasn’t revealed the actual cause of her demise, many believe Lauren Sweeney passed away due to a pulmonary embolism.

Furthermore, her family organized a memorial service for Lauren on Thursday, January 23, 2026, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home in New Britain.

Lauren Sweeney’s Mother, Carol Ann Broll Sweeney, Is A Director of Altice USA

Although very little information about the late Lauren Sweeney’s father, Greg Sweeney, is available, her mother, Carol’s shows she has an exceptional career.

Moreover, Lauren’s mother, Carol Ann Sweeney, has been a director and network procurement of a renowned telecommunication company, Altice USA, in Bethpage, New York, United States, since February 2026.

In addition to being the director of Altice USA, Carol is also the president of the largest WICT network.

Before that, she worked as a sourcing consultant at MJC Sourcing from September 2026 to March 2026.

Similarly, Carol began her career with ARAMARK as their Supervisor in 1996 and served her position for two years before becoming the manager and national account operations officer at IKON Office Solutions in 1998.

After working with IKON Office Solutions for almost seven years, she became the senior manager of Comcast in 2006 and served in her position for over eight years.

Likewise, she also served as the senior manager of business operations of ARRIS and Business Operations leader of CommScope.

She earned her bachelor of science in hotel and institutional management from Penn State University.

Carol often shared pictures of her late daughter Lauren on her social media, expressing her love and pride for her eldest daughter.

In addition to her parents, Lauren Sweeney is also survived by her two siblings, including sister Jilian M. Sweeney and brother Ryan J. Sweeney.
