Beyond Athletics, Joshua Was a Committed Student with a Passion for Learning
He graduated from Perry High School, where he consistently earned honor roll status throughout his academic career.
His dedication to his studies carried over to Fort Valley State University, where he was a sophomore pursuing a degree in Visual and Performing Arts.
As an Honors scholar, Joshua demonstrated the same discipline and enthusiasm in the classroom as he did on the track.
Fort Valley State University mourned his loss, stating,
“We are deeply saddened to share that Joshua Woodard, a sophomore Visual and Performing Arts scholar from Perry, Georgia, passed away over the weekend. We are heartbroken by the passing of Mr. Joshua Woodard,”

Born to Danell Woodard in Perry, Georgia, Joshua grew up alongside three siblings in a close-knit family.
