His impact on…
— Toronto Blue Jays (@BlueJays)
After nearly two months of his wife Kathy’s passing, Jim Clancy reunites with her, sending shockwaves through the baseball community.
The Blue Jays honored him as a foundational figure in their history, praising his leadership and quiet strength.
For his family, whose privacy he fiercely protected, the grief is likely profound, shared quietly away from the public eye.
One of his former students recalled his memory with Jim Clancy and said:
Very Sad News. I was invited to a Blue jays prospect training camp back in the day. I had the pleasure of working on my pitching with Jim Clancy one on one. I was 16 years old….my favourite thing was when I started throwing he said stop. Told the jays catcher to put a mask on….he said…this kid throws hard…!! My Dad was in ear shot of that comment….I know that made him smile. Jim Clancy was a big guy, and one of the all time great Blue jays pitchers.
Even though he died, his legacy continues through the people he influenced and the impact he had on baseball.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jim Clancy’s family, friends, and well-wishers.
Rest In Peace, Legend!
