He spent years working with legends, first as a public relations agent for Jeff Gordon and then with Kyle Larson.
Jon was dedicated to his work and propel the sport ahead behind the glamour and speed of the racetrack. He was always excited about the next race and the next thing in the sport.
He dedicated an incredible 31 years to Hendrick Motorsports, leaving an indelible mark on NASCAR. His journey began in 1994 at Darlington, where he first joined Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 team.
It was a pivotal moment that launched him into the heart of the sport’s golden era.
A cherished figure in the profession, Edwards became a mentor to many and a trusted presence in the garage through the highs and lows of racing.

He was one of the most loyal, hardworking, and selfless people I’ve ever known, and I will be forever grateful for his immeasurable impact on my life and my career. Jon Edwards has many incredible qualities but how he supports me/my career & the little mindful, selfless things he does each day to make life easier & less stressful is astounding. He is my daily reminder to never settle for less than amazing.
The Edwards family will hold a private service for close friends and extended family, with a public celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in Jon’s memory.
