Isaiah Caldwell, a 2026 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High, passed away after a tragic motorcycle accident at the age of 20 on September 11, 2026.

He was a beloved son, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Isaiah Caldwell’s journey through local schools and sports teams proved his hard work and versatile talent. He built his educational foundation at St. Paul Lutheran School until the 6th grade and then joined Fort Dodge Senior High.

It was on the football field for the Dodgers that his athletic prowess first gained significant recognition. He was a standout player and earned the prestigious honor of First Team All-District during his high school career.

Moreover, Isaiah’s talents were not limited to the gridiron. He showcased his agility and team spirit on the basketball court as a player for the Dodgers basketball team.

Likewise, he excelled in rugby and became a key player for the STAGS rugby team. He proved his toughness, speed, and strategic understanding in a demanding and physically demanding sport.

Undoubtedly, his untimely passing saddened the whole community, and many remembered the standout athlete in their heartfelt tribute.

The Fort Dodge Community School District honors 2026 FDSH graduate and former Dodger football player Isaiah Caldwell with a moment of silence before Friday’s game against Waterloo East. Caldwell tragically passed away on Thursday after a motorcycle accident.

Isaiah Caldwell’s Family Mourns the Tragic Loss

Isaiah Caldwell, the son of Leslie and David Caldwell, was born on October 19, 2005, in Fort Dodge, a community that shaped his life and character.

His parents raised him in a close-knit family alongside his two brothers, Caleb and Jacob.

Isaiah left this world too soon, leaving an indelible mark of love, joy, and kindness on all who were blessed to know him.

He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and his faith in God was the cornerstone of his life.

He was a proud and hardworking young man who found great fulfillment working alongside his dad and brothers in the construction field. He demonstrated a strong work ethic that inspired everyone around him.

Furthermore, his passions were pure and straightforward, rooted in family and the great outdoors. He thrived in nature, feeling the rush of riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, casting a line on a quiet fishing trip, or taking in the majesty of the mountains.

He had recently returned from his favorite trip, an adventure through the mountains of Montana with his two brothers, Caleb and Jacob, and his cousin, Carson.

The standout athlete possessed a compassionate and caring soul, always greeting others with his infectious smile. He was sweet-natured, had the biggest heart, and gave the best hugs.

He forged countless friendships throughout his life and was a true inspiration who lived life on his own terms. He will be fondly remembered for his special one-liner, offered with a warm smile: “You will have that.

The one who could make anyone around him laugh. That’s who Isaiah was, he loved everyone around him no matter who you were and made every night one to remember. There’s nobody else who’d call me at 2 am needing a ride home more than Isaiah. We’ll all miss you, and remember you everytime we come back home. Prayers to the caldwells💕

Above all else, family meant the most to Isaiah. He shared a special and unique bond with every member of his family, from his grandparents to his cousins. His connection with his parents and brothers was particularly profound.

His unwavering positivity and the joy he brought to family gatherings will be deeply missed.

Isaiah is survived by his loving parents, Leslie and David Caldwell; his brothers, Caleb and Jacob Caldwell; his grandparents, Dave and Joyce Caldwell, and Lee and Deb Dreyer; and his girlfriend, Samantha Smith.

He shared a close bond with his aunts and uncles, including Heather Baedke, Tiffany Lensch, Cory and Kit Anderson, Troy and Wendy Anderson, Nichole and Brent Klaassen, Kim Caldwell, Jon Baedke, and Rob Lensch.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sheila Caldwell.

The Caldwell family will hold a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Kendall Meyer officiating.

Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery, north of Fort Dodge. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2026, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Family and friends are all invited to join in celebrating the immense joy and love Isaiah brought into our lives. His legacy will continue to shine brightly, reminding us of the precious moments we shared and the love that unites us all.
