Former President of the Rangers Golf Club, Peter “Moose McBride, passed away at 59, leaving his only daughter Alexis.
Peter “Moose” McBride was a lifelong sports enthusiast who grew up playing and watching soccer, football, and baseball.
When his joints no longer allowed him to compete the way he once did, he found a new passion in golf.
That love grew into leadership, as he proudly served for many years as President of the Rangers Golf Club.

Born on July 31, 1966, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Peter “Moose” McBride passed away on December 19, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He is now reunited with his beloved father, Billy, who passed in 2000, and his mother, Eileen, who passed earlier in 2026.
Peter’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, loyalty, and laughter will live on.
At the age of seven, Peter immigrated to Canada with his family.
Professionally, Peter spent many years of his career working for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission.
His career journey also included roles at Casino Niagara, Kelsey Hayes, and ES Fox, where he was known as a dependable and well-liked colleague.
Beyond playing and leading, Peter was a devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Islanders.
Having lived a full and meaningful life for 59 years, Peter is deeply missed by many.
Many former teammates and community members have expressed their sorrow and shared fond memories following his passing, with one writing:
Rest in peace Peter..I played soccer with Peter for ten years and it began in 1973..Peter McBride was the very best player that I had ever played with and was equally brilliant as a goalkeeper and striker which is absolutely rare. Peter had a fabulous personality, sense of humor and a kind heart. You are missed my friend..Great person and great soccer player.
While many now remember Peter in their hearts, he is survived by his daughter, Alexis; his brother Michael and sister-in-law Lori McBride; and his sister Kerri and brother-in-law Pete Demask.
He is also survived by his niece and nephew, along with his aunt Pat Roberts and several cousins.
A Celebration of Peter’s life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Calvary Church in St. Catharines, followed by a reception later that afternoon.
While everyone mourns this loss, we express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
