The wrestling community is mourning the tragic loss of Frank Fea, a 24-year-old Middletown, NY native whose life was cut short in a motorcycle accident on Friday, August 1, at the intersection of Pascack Road and West Hill Road in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.
Frank’s passing has left a deep void among friends, family, and the wrestling world, where he was both a standout athlete and an inspiring coach.
A Life On The Mat
Frank Fea’s wrestling journey began at Goshen High School, where he compiled an impressive 97-15 career record.
Despite struggling with injuries in his later high school years, his raw talent shone through.
He placed 3rd and 4th at the Section 9 Championships as a freshman and sophomore, proof of a fierce competitor who never stopped pushing forward.
He continued his career at Castleton University before shifting his focus from competition to coaching, where his passion for wrestling only deepened.
From 2026 to 2026, he served as an assistant wrestling coach at Don Bosco Prep, one of the region’s most respected high school programs.
Frank also coached at RedNose Wrestling School, where he played a vital role in training young athletes, including his younger brother, Nick Fea, a rising star in Division I wrestling.
A Brother’s Tribute
To honor Frank’s memory, Nick Fea is organizing a white balloon release on Monday, August 4, in Nanuet.
It’s a tribute from a brother who shared not just blood, but a bond forged in grit, mats, and mutual respect.
Nick, who currently wrestles for the University of North Carolina, has built an impressive résumé of his own.
Similarly, the New York USA Wrestling organization expressed heartfelt condolences.
Their statement reflected on how Frank found peace and purpose in coaching, dedicating his time to shaping future generations of wrestlers.
“The quality and quantity of the impact made…was captured abundantly by the various tributes that have poured out in the days following the tragedy.”
Frank is survived by his parents, Alfred and Tracey Fea, and his brother, Nick.
The family’s loss is immeasurable, but so is the love and respect Frank earned in his short, but impactful life.
Rest in peace, Frank!
