Dr. Darryl Glen Elrod Opens Up About His Divorce from Tara Elrod
After two years of separation, Dr. Darryl Glen Elrod has officially finalized his divorce from Tara Elrod.
In a candid and lengthy post, he shares his side of the story filled with financial disputes, allegations of abuse, infidelity, and a battle over their children.
Dr. Elrod claims that Tara left their marriage with significant financial support, spending over $120,000 from his business in the first year alone. This included furniture, a new car, and a $3,000 Pottery Barn canopy bed.
He even funded her education, including a master’s in functional nutrition and a bachelor’s in nursing, while covering living expenses in multiple states.
During divorce negotiations, Tara allegedly demanded 90% of their home sale proceeds and refused to share any business debt, despite claiming credit for its success.
Dr. Elrod admits to past affairs but states he sought counseling and accountability.
However, he alleges that Tara was also unfaithful, engaging in a six-month affair with a married woman before his infidelity.
He further claims to have been a victim of domestic violence, citing three incidents where she allegedly punched him hard enough to leave black eyes.
According to Dr. Elrod, he was the primary caregiver during their marriage, handling morning routines, school drop-offs, meals, and bedtime, while Tara never lifted a finger.
Anyone that knows us can attest to the fact that during our marriage Tara never lifted a finger. I woke all the kids. I made sometimes 6 breakfasts. I packed all the lunches. I usually drove all the kids to school. I made dinner 80% of the time (the other 20% was often our nanny). I read stories. I said prayers. I tucked all the kids in. Tara…did nothing.
Now, custody disputes have escalated, with their oldest daughter moving in with him after Tara allegedly rejected her over her sexuality.
Moreover, he also raises concerns about Tara’s boyfriend, citing police reports for public intoxication, a casino ban for providing alcohol to minors, and alleged hallucinogenic drug use.
Similarly, he was banned from volleyball for being drunk and cussing out a ref.
Furthermore, Dr. Elrod accuses Tara of deliberately sabotaging his medical practice, including deleting business Facebook pages with thousands of followers and falsely accusing him of stalking.
He also claims she misrepresented her income to the court to secure higher child support payments.
Nonetheless, Dr. Elrod took responsibility for his mistakes and hopes to move forward, focusing on his children, rebuilding his business, and setting the record straight.
