Trey Rawlinson, a Delta Jacks baseball player, passed away at the age of 11 in a watercraft accident at Gunnison Bend Reservoir on the evening of Tuesday, August 5, 2026.

He was one of the talented student-athletes from the Delta Middle School.

Trey Rawlinson quickly became a standout player for the Delta Jacks and captured the attention of baseball fans with his impressive skills and dedication to the game.

Trey Rawlinson Passed Away, Drowned In A Watercraft Accident

Trey Rawlinson was a beloved son, brother, and cherished friend who passed away, drowning at Gunnison Bend Reservoir on the evening of Tuesday, August 5, 2026.

According to the Millard County Sheriff’s Office, Trey was attending a church youth event at the reservoir near Delta, Utah, and the incident happened around 8:30 p.m.

Reports indicate that a rope attached to a watercraft entangled in the boat’s motor, pulling Trey underwater.

Despite immediate rescue efforts by bystanders and emergency responders, he was later airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities haven’t officially released the victim’s name, but family and friends have confirmed Trey’s identity. They remembered him as a bright, joyful boy who brought laughter and warmth to those around him.

The Millard County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident and has expressed its deepest condolences to the Rawlinson family and the grieving community.

Grief counselors and church leaders are offering support, especially to the young witnesses who were present during the tragedy.

Trey Rawlinson was the beloved son of Tiffany and Jared Rawlinson. His parents raised him in a close-knit family alongside his three siblings, Jax, Jett, and Ava.

They knew him for his joyful spirit, adventurous heart, and kind nature.

Trey left this world far too soon, leaving behind a community heartbroken but forever touched by his kindness, laughter, and vibrant spirit.

Today our little family suffered a great loss. Trey will be forever missed and loved. I cannot express the level of love and support this great community has shown us. Thank you to all the great people of this community. None of it has gone unnoticed.

His father, Jared Rawlinson, studies Juris Master- General Law at Florida State University College of Law. He works as a Plant Mechanic at Intermountain Power Service Corp and Vice President at IBEW LOCAL 1619.
