Conner High School Coach David Trosper And His Wife, Ginny, Were Married For A Decade!

James David Trosper, the respected head football coach and business teacher at Conner High School, passed away from a heart attack on June 7, 2026, at the age of 55.
The Northern Kentucky community is processing the sudden loss of beloved coach James David Trosper.
James David Trosper is survived by his wife, Ginny Trosper, and their children, Morgan “Morg, ” Grace “Franny,” and Christen “Nah.”
Likewise, he also leaves behind his brother, Kyle (Rachel) Trosper, his aunt, Donna Trosper, and his nieces and nephews, Levi, Liza, Katie-Beth, James, and John-David.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Conner High School, followed by a Celebration of Life at Fred Nevel Football Stadium, weather permitting.
Attendees are encouraged to wear Conner Cougars gear in red, white, and blue. David will be laid to rest at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.

At the center of David Trosper’s life was his devoted wife of 10 years, Ginny Trosper.
David Trosper tied the knot with Ginny in 2015 and together, they raised their three daughters, Morgan “Morg,” Grace “Franny,” and Christen “Nah”.
His wife, Ginny Trosper, has built a diverse and fulfilling career centered on health, wellness, and empowering others.
She began as a Registered Dental Hygienist after graduating from the University of Kentucky in 1993, accumulating over 20 years of experience in dental care.
Ginny worked with Dr. Kevin McMahon from 1993 to 1995 in Cincinnati, Ohio, followed by a nine-year tenure with Dr. William O’Connor from 1996 to 2005, also in Cincinnati.
She then spent 14 years with Dr. Charles Horning in Florence, Kentucky, from 2006 to 2026, until a spinal fusion led to her retirement from dental hygiene.
Driven by her passion for wellness, Ginny pursued a new path, becoming a Certified Health and Life Coach.
Since August 2026, she has operated as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor through her own business, Ginny Trosper Coaching, LLC, based in Independence, Kentucky.
All Of David Trosper’s Three Daughters Played Collegiate Volleyball!
The beloved coach, David, found happiness in being a father to his daughters. Jill Tranter, David’s close friend, wrote:

All three of his daughters played volleyball. Coming from a family deeply connected to volleyball, with her sisters Grace and Morgan playing at Defiance College, Christen is now following in their footsteps.
His daughter, Morgan, is a former receptionist secretary at George M. Smart Athletic Center and a former peer Interventionist at ASD Affinity Program, Defiance College.
Morgan is a graduate of the Hench Autism Studies Program at Defiance College.
Whereas his daughter, , is establishing herself as a standout defensive player.
A four-time Defensive MVP in high school, Christen’s achievements include earning an NKGVCA All-Opponent Division 1 Honorable Mention in 2026, followed by a Second Team selection in 2026.
Her impact was further recognized when she secured spots on both the KHSAA 34th District All-Tournament Team and the 9th Region All-Tournament Team in 2026.
One of her most cherished milestones was reaching the 1,000-career digs mark.
David Trosper’s Coaching Career Spanned Over Three Decades!
Born on November 20, 1969, in Northern Kentucky, Trosper was a standout athlete at Boone County High School, graduating in 1988.
As a linebacker, he earned Second Team All-State honors and served as team captain his senior year, helping the Rebels reach state championship games in 1986 and 1987 under legendary coach Owen Hauck.
Trosper continued his athletic career at Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, where he was a two-time All-Mid-South Conference linebacker and set a school record with 19 tackles in a single game.
His coaching career spanned over three decades, beginning at Union College and Morehead State University before he transitioned to high school coaching.
Trosper served as head football coach at Holmes High School from 2003 to 2006 before taking the helm at Conner High School in 2007, where he became the longest-tenured football coach in Northern Kentucky.
As a business teacher and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Chair, Trosper was a guiding force in the classroom and on the field.
In 2008, he received the Owen Hauck Award from the Northern Kentucky Football Coaches Association for leading Conner to the playoffs for the first time in four years.
Trosper was also honored to coach twice in the prestigious Kentucky-Tennessee Border Bowl All-Star Game and was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
