Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy was involved in a December 17, 2026, crash in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, which killed 78-year-old Herman Hall.
Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless vehicle operation.
Additionally, the state police claimed he illegally passed cars, causing a chain reaction.
His attorney, Matt Ory, now says new surveillance footage shows Lacy’s car was over 70 yards behind the collision at the time.
He insists that Lacy was unfairly portrayed in the media and the investigation, and that the crash evidence does not support him as the cause.
Ory even called the police investigation “targeted and overzealous,” even
He argues that the narrative framing of Lacy as the primary cause of the crash contributed heavily to public pressure and mental burden.
Before his case could go before a grand jury, Lacy died by an apparent suicide in April 2026 during a police pursuit in Texas.

A Facebook user named shared a post with pictures of an officer and a woman.

Additionally, she accused Bryahna Emani Gray of being the real driver who caused the crash.
Furthermore, she said that Gray let Lacy take the blame, which led to him being bullied, losing his football future, and eventually taking his own life.
Moni added that Gray later sued Lacy’s insurance company for injuries she caused herself, saying:
She had the audacity to sue his insurance company for the accident in which she broke her foot that she caused. They both deserve to rot in jail.

Many people reacted strongly to Moni Penny’s post, expressing their anger and disbelief.
One person commented on the post saying:
Yeah, this whole thing is really evil and screwed up…especially after you see the vid that was released showing Kyren was not even involved. I just don’t understand what the officer had to gain by lying about who was involved in an auto accident. Doesn’t make sense…at all!!!!
Another commented:
Moni Penny such a sad story. Like you said they need to rot in jail.
While others in the comment section were furious, with many saying “rot in hell” to both the officer and the woman involved.
People even blamed them for framing Kyren Lacy and causing his death.
