Dallas Texans soccer player Ariel Hartwell tragically took her own life at 17.
Ariel Hartwell was a from Wakeland High School in Frisco, Texas, with a passion for soccer and academic excellence.
Standing at 5 feet 2 inches, Ariel played as a forward and attacking midfielder.
She was also a varsity cross-country runner who earned 1st Team Academic All-District honors and placed 5th in the state.
As an eighth , she distinguished herself in several demanding track events, including the 300m hurdles with a personal best of 50.95 seconds and in the pole vault, where she has cleared an impressive 8’0″.
Ariel also competed in the 2k steeplechase (8:50.70) and relays.

The devastating news has left her family, friends, teammates, and classmates in shock and mourning as they come to terms with the sudden loss of a bright light in their lives.👇

The Frisco community is mourning the devastating and unexpected loss of Ariel Hartwell, a beloved student-athlete at Wakeland High School and a standout soccer player with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club.
News of her shocking passing has sent shockwaves through the school and local athletic communities.
Mental health counselors have been made available at Wakeland High School, and the Dallas Texans organization is also offering resources to support their athletes and staff during this difficult time.
Moreover, loved ones have urged to increase awareness and open conversations around youth mental health and suicide prevention.
Closed ones and relatives have poured their condolences and sent prayers to Ariel Hartwell’s parents to stay strong in this challenging time.
Her family will announce funeral arrangements for Ariel in the coming days.
Although Hartwell’s parents stayed away from social media, they always supported her in achieving her athletic dreams.
