Alexander’ Alex’ Gonzalo, a Austin, Texas resident and standout Park Ridge athlete, passed away at an untimely age of 22 in a tragic scooter accident, leaving his parents, siblings, and loved ones devastated.
According, Alexander William Gonzalo, 22, died at a hospital on Sunday, November 16, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in downtown Austin.
The crash occurred early Saturday morning, November 15, at approximately 1:29 a.m., at the intersection of West Fifth Street and Rio Grande Street, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

Officers responding to the scene confirmed that Gonzalo was transported to the hospital following the collision, where he was pronounced deceased the following day.
APD stated that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated fully with the investigation.
Furthermore, the untimely death of Alex Gonzalo has left a profound void in the lives of his parents, family, and loved ones.
He touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills, excelling in multiple sports.
Alexander Gonzalo was born on February 24, 2003, as the eldest of three children to parents, Molly and Miguel Gonzalo.
He has two younger siblings, a brother named Christopher ‘Chris’ Gonzalo and a sister named Piper Gonzalo.
Furthermore, Molly and Miquel Gonzalo raised all three of their kids to be outstanding athletes.

Following in his elder brother’s footsteps, Chris also at Maine South High School and is currently playing as an infielder for the Montclair State University men’s baseball team.
While Molly and Miguel haven’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of their beloved eldest son, Alex Gonzalo, as they prefer to maintain a low profile and are currently grieving the loss, they often express their love and pride for him.

In addition to his parents, Molly and Miguel, and his siblings, Chris and Piper, Alex Gonzalo is survived by his grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts, and the entire family.
