Davenport, Florida Native and Volleyball Coach Myco Jean-Baptiste, 20, Dies in Tragic Car Accident Near Blue Heron Boulevard

Myco Jean-Baptiste, a Davenport, Florida native and beloved coach, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2026, at an untimely age of 20, leaving his loved ones shattered.

According, 20-year-old Myco Jean-Baptiste tragically lost his life in a car accident on Sunday on US-27 near Blue Heron Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash occurred around 4:00 p.m., when Jean-Baptiste, driving a Kia Sedan, was heading southbound on US-27.

As he attempted to turn left onto Blue Heron Boulevard, his vehicle collided with a northbound Tesla Model 3, driven by a 26-year-old man from Haines City.

Furthermore, Myco Jean-Baptiste suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tesla driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Myco Jean-Baptiste was a Former Athlete and Volleyball Coach

Myco Jean-Baptiste touched the lives of many with his exceptional athletic and coaching skills, as well as his kind nature.

He served as a coach for the Islanders Elite Volleyball Club, guiding and inspiring young athletes and leading them to several victories.

Similarly, Myco was a former high school athlete excelling in multiple sports, including basketball, football, and volleyball.

Islanders Elite Volleyball team took to its social media to pay tribute to their beloved coach and extend heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

The post reads:

“Coach Myco was more than a coach: he was a mentor, a guide, and an inspiration to all the athletes who had the privilege of knowing him. His smile, his energy, and his faith always filled the court with life and hope.Today, the entire Islanders Elite Volleyball family joins in prayer for his eternal rest and for the comfort of his loved ones.Your spirit will live on in every practice, every point, and every heart you touched.”

Myco Jean-Baptiste is survived by his parents, grandparents, sister, Guiliana Jean-Baptiste, uncles, aunts, cousins, and the entire family.

While his parents haven’t released any statement regarding the untimely demise of Myco, his sister, Guiliana, who is a model, took to her Instagram to recall his memories.

The post reads:

I will continue to make you proud and check off the things off of your bucket list for you. There’s no me without you. I love you dearly baby boy. Forever 20. I have posted a go fund link in my bio. Guiliana also created a to help the family honor Myco’s memory and to cover the funeral expenses.
