Sherrone Moore’s coaching career began in January 2018 when he joined the University of Michigan staff as the tight ends coach.
After three seasons, he was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, a role in which he helped Michigan’s offensive line win the prestigious Joe Moore Award in both 2026 and 2026.
In 2026, Moore stepped in as interim head coach during Jim Harbaugh’s suspension, co-leading the Wolverines to the College Football Playoff National Championship.
His success in that role led to his promotion as head coach for the 2026 season, where he finished with an 8–5 record.

Despite all these achievements and his once-promising career, Sherrone Moore was fired on December 10, 2026.
He is currently detained in Washtenaw County Jail amid an ongoing assault investigation.

“I have inside info about his arrest. All I will say is that there will be three more arrests connected to the situation within the next 48 hours.”
Together, the allegations, police detention, and public reactions underscore a dramatic fall from grace for Sherrone Moore.
