She won gold medals at the 2026 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship and the 2026 FIBA Under-17 World Cup.   Her contributions to the national team and MVP-worthy performances have solidified her reputation as a world-class athlete.   In addition, she became the first female athlete to be represented by Klutch Sports Group.

Who Is DJ Wagner?

DJ Wagner, a rising star in college basketball, shares a close friendship with Watkins. He currently plays for the Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).    Reportedly, DJ is the son of a former professional basketball player Dajuan Wagner, and grandson of professional player Milt Wagner.   A standout point guard from Camden High School in New Jersey, DJ guided the Panthers to a 23-3 record as a senior.    In 2026, he became the first third-generation McDonald’s All-American, joining both his father and grandfather.   Ranked No. 1 by ESPN and 247Sports, DJ Wagner committed to Kentucky on November 14, 2026.

As per reports, their friendship blossomed through their shared passion for basketball. It eventually led to them attending their proms together in 2026.   “He asked me on Facetime, actually. We started talking about prom and he asked me,” .   Firstly, DJ Wagner flew to California and attended Sierra Canyon’s prom with Watkins in May 2026.   On the other hand, JuJu Watkins flew to New Jersey and attended Camden’s prom with Wagner in June.

The duo shared snapshots of their prom dates on social media, drawing attention and speculation from fans and celebrities alike.   Albeit, neither Watkins nor Wagner have confirmed any romantic involvement.
