Maryland did not offer any scholarship options to Bader, so he walked out in July. Later, he signed up with the University of Florida on a partial scholarship and played for the Gators.

As a freshman, Harrison Bader helped the Gators lead with a .312 batting average and then, as a sophomore, with a .337.

During his sophomore year in 2014, Bader met with a scooter accident while drunk driving, which led him to suspension for 19 games. 

In 2015, he played 67 games and batted .297, recording 17 home runs and 66 RBIs as a junior.

After he batted .348 in only five games, he was appointed to the All-Tournament Team in the 2015 College World Series.

2015

The St. Louis Cardinals selected Harrison Bader in the third round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Later, he signed a contract with the Cardinals and received a signing bonus worth $400,000.

Harrison made his professional debut appearance with the Cardinal’s minor league Class-A Short Season affiliate team, the State College Spikes.

During his debut game with the Spikes, he recorded two home runs. The Cardinals later promoted Bader to a Class-A Midwest League (MWL) team, the Peoria Chiefs, in July.

He recorded .448 hits in seven games, two home runs, six RBIs, one double, and two triples, which led him to receive the MWL Player of the Week for August.

Harrison recorded 11 home runs, 32 RBIs, 13 doubles, and 17 stolen bases in a total of 61 games that he played for State College and Peoria.

2016

In the 2016 season, Bader played for the Class AA Minor League Baseball (MiLB) team, Springfield Cardinals of the Texas League.

Further, in the Texas League mid-season All-Star Game, Harrison Bader was named an outfielder, and he scored four hits with a double and a run.

On July 6, 2016, he was promoted to the Triple-A affiliate of the Cardinals, the Memphis Redbirds.

Even more so, Baseball America rated Harrison Bader in the top 100, ranking 89th in their updated 2016 mid-season ranking.

Bader finished the 2016 season with a combined .267 hits in 131 games with Memphis and Springfield, recording 19 home runs and 58 RBIs.

The following season, Bader re-joined the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. And as luck would have it, the Cardinals promoted Bader to the major leagues on July 25, 2017, to replace the injured Dexter Fowler.

In addition, Bader played 97 total games for Memphis before his promotion and recorded .297 hits with 19 home runs and 48 RBIs in 97 games.

The night of his promotion to the major leagues, Bader played as a center fielder while recording his major league debut hit and a double. Not to mention, he even scored the winning run on a walk-off sacrifice fly.

Likewise, he hit a 395-foot shot to left field on September 1, 2017, against Johnny Cueto, helping the Cardinals lead the game to a victory over the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.

2018

After an exceptionally successful year, it was another glorious moment for Bader in 2018 when MLB.com ranked him as St Louis’ fifth-best prospect going into the 2018 season.

On April 3, the Cardinals promoted Harrison to the major leagues to replace an injured infielder.

Following his success in the 2018 season, Bader started the 2019 season as a starting center fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals.

However, he had difficulties at the plate and was subsequently moved into a bench role. Eventually, on July 30, he was sent back to Memphis.

Nonetheless, on August 20, he was called back by the St. Louis Cardinals. Bader recorded a triple hit and two runs with a walk-off win over the Milwaukee Brewers in his first game after being recalled.

Besides, Harrison played 128 games with the St. Louis Cardinals by the season’s end, recording 12 home runs, 39 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases.
