Amidst D’Amato managing most of the position, Giorgio converted 14 out of 15 extra-point tries and 8 out of 12 field goal efforts.

Junior Year

During Tavecchio’s junior year in 2010, he handled the placekicking position and converted 37 out of 39 extra-point attempts, including 11 out of 16 field goal attempts.

Within Giorgio’s first three seasons, he recorded a field goal percentage of 68% and reached a 75% field goal percentage following his senior year.

Senior Year

During Tavecchio’s senior season, he recorded his best statistical kicking performance while playing against Arizona State with a 47–38 victory.

During the win against the Sun Devils, Giorgio transformed all four field-goal attempts and all five extra-point attempts.

His 20 field goals led the California Golden Bears to the 2011 season of the Pac-12 Conference.

Pre-draft

Proceeding into the draft, the NFL Combine didn’t invite Giorgio. Throughout the California Golden Bears pro day, it was raining before performing any drills.

He kept running his prepared drills. However, he could not show his talents as every NFL scout went into an indoor practice facility.

Giorgio remained unsigned, going undrafted during the 2012 NFL Draft.

Later, he attended a tryout for the NFL team San Francisco 49ers, where he was the only kicker available.

Moreover, on August 29, 2012, Giorgio signed a three-year contract worth $1.44 million with the San Francisco 49ers.

During that time, Brad Seely, special team coach of the San Francisco 49ers, was looking for an additional kicker to succeed the longtime veteran, David Akers.

Seely thought they could use the same holder instead of preparing another holder for a right-footed kicker.

Green Bay Packers

The Raiders promoted Giorgio to the active roster on September 9, 2017, after the Raider’s longtime kicker , suffered from a back injury.

He played his first game on September 10, 2017, and scored four field goals on four attempts, with two 52-yard attempts and two extra points during two shots.

During Week 1, Giorgio tied for the most points scored by a kicker with Greg Zuerlein of the Los Angeles Rams.
