Hayden Young’s brother, Lachie Young, an Australian rules footballer, is more than just an elder brother to him. Do you know that the Young brothers not only share the same passion but also similar playing styles?

The two brothers, who were born two years apart, got into the AFL in a difference of one year. Lachie was the 2018 draft pick, while Hayden was the 2019’s.

Hayden, who is highly regarded for his kicking ability, was considered one of the best kicks in his draft class. He was the 7th selection of the Dandenong Stingrays in the 2019 AFL draft.

But it was until the 2026 AFL season he would sign with Fremantle & make his professional debut against Brisbane as a late replacement for Nathan Wilson.

However, his debut season was limited to only five games due to an ankle injury. But also, it was enough to showcase his potential.

As a result, Hayden Young got a four-year contract extension & was promoted to the leadership group prior to the 2026 season.

Hayden Young has an older brother named Lachie Young, who is also an Australian rules footballer. Currently, Lachie plays for the North Melbourne Kangaroos in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Lachie was born on April 6, 1999, in the suburb of Berwick in Melbourne, Australia, and is 27 years old as of 2026.

His younger brother Hayden, born on April 11, 2001, is 25 years old. The Young brothers have an age gap of two years & 5 days.

Currently, Lachie Young is in a relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Shannon Spinks.

The elder of the Young brothers started his football career with the Berwick Football Club in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.

North Melbourne selected him at pick 62 in the 2017 AFL draft after he played for the Dandenong Stingrays in the NAB League. He made his debut in Round 18 of the 2019 AFL season against Collingwood.

Lachie has predominantly played as a defender during his AFL career and has shown promise as a rebounding defender with his ability to intercept the opposition’s attacking plays.

He has played a total of 18 AFL games so far in his career, and his younger brother, Hayden, has mentioned in interviews that Lachie has been a significant influence on his own football career.
