Former University of Florida Track & Field Star Gabriel Aird Dies in Car Accident, Survived by Wife Alissa and Two Daughters

Gabriel Aird, a Florida native and former collegiate track & field star, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2026, at an untimely age, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones devastated.

According to some social media posts, Gabriel Aird lost his life in a tragic car accident; however, his family has not yet shared any statement as they are currently grieving the loss of their beloved member.

Furthermore, the whole Florida community is mourning the untimely death of their beloved member and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

The Florida community has also created a to help Gabriel Aird’s wife, Alissa Marie Aird, and their two daughters, Avayah and Violet, cover funeral expenses and other bills and financial responsibilities, as Alissa is still on maternity leave with limited income.

Gabriel and his wife, Alissa, welcomed their second child, daughter Violet, only two months prior to his untimely demise.

The fundraiser aims to raise $28k and to date has raised around $15,705.

Late Gabriel Aird Was a Track & Field Star at The Florida University

, a native of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, was an outstanding athlete who excelled in track & field in both high school and college.

He began his athletic journey at Suncoast High School, where he led his team in several victories and won several honorable titles.

Late Gabriel won the 212 FHSAA Class 2A Outdoor Finals 300mH championship, was runner-up finisher in the 200m and 300mH at the 2012 Golden West Invitational, third-place finisher in the 110mH at the 2012 FHSAA Class 2A Outdoor Finals, runner-up finisher in the 110mH and 300mH at the 2011 FHSAA Class 2A Region 4 meet.

He further continued his athletic journey at the University of Florida, where he was a member of the men’s track & field team, the Florida Gators.

During his freshman year at the University of Florida, he competed in six meets, including five outdoors. He ran a season-best 53.34 in the 400mH at the SEC Outdoor Championships, just missing the final, and achieved his highest hurdle finish at the Arkansas Team Invitational, finishing in 53.75 to take third.

During his senior year, he ran the 400mH in the SEC Outdoor Championship prelims and the indoor 400m at the Rod McCravy Memorial and Razorback Invitational.

Gabriel Aird’s contribution to the community will always be remembered.
