As per the source, Michel Rosenau, a graduate of the University of Michigan, has tragically passed away.

Michael Rosenau was a dedicated and versatile athlete from Turner, Oregon, originally from Riverside, California.

From an early age, he a strong passion for sports, excelling in both cross-country and football.

As a middle school runner, Michael for Cascade Middle School in the Capital Junior Conference (CJC), where he set a personal record of 4:26.0 in the 1000 meters during teh Cow Pie Classic in 2011.

In addition to his achievements on the track, Michael played football for United, wearing jersey #14.

He pursued higher education at Linn-Benton Community College, attending from 2018 to 2026.

During his time, he applied the same focus and determination that marked his athletic career to his studies, showcasing his ability to balance academics with athletics.

Cascade Junior High School Athlete Michael Rosenau Passed Away, Leaving Everyone Devastated

A former cross-country athlete and football player, Michael Rosenau, passed away in November 2026. However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

His uncle Cameron Rosenau, an engineer at Northwest Youth Corps, took to his official Facebook handle to announce the tragic news. He ,

I honestly can’t believe this is real… my cousin Michael Rosenau was a beacon of light in so many peoples lives. He was a good man, wonderful son and the best friend anyone could have. The lord is holding him forever now in his mighty kingdom. To say he will be missed is an understatement and EVERYONE who knows him is going to feel this loss deeply. Me and my wife Alexis Rosenau will be praying for peace. My heart is shattered.

Michael’s aunt Alexis Rosenau, a DSP at Affect Youth Services, also offered her heartfelt condolences. She wrote,

Yesterday, we lost someone truly extraordinary. Michael was the kind of man whose kindness radiated in everything he did always ready to help, always thinking of others before himself. Generous not just with his time, but with his heart. I’ll never forget his smile. The way he greeted me made me feel like I belonged from the very beginning. He welcomed me into this family with warmth and sincerity, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Martin Salinas, on behalf of the Cascade Young Life family, has invited everyone to prayers on Monday, November 10, 2026, which will be held from 6:00 pm to 8 pm at 7700 4th St, Turner, Oregon 97383. He wrote,

Our Cascade Young Life family is heartbroken by the passing of Michael Rosenau. Michael gave so much of himself to this ministry and all he came into contact with in his life. We’re opening our building tomorrow for ANYONE that knew Michael. November 10th, from 6:00pm–8:00 PM for a special time of prayer and worship on behalf of Michael’s family. You’re invited to stop by, pray with us, worship, or simply drop off a card about the impact Michael had on your life. Let’s gather as a community to remember Michael and thank God for the way he touched so many lives.

Baileey Bugg, who studies at the Petaluma Transition Program, also mourned the loss of Michael and sent prayers to his family.

The Cascade School District also took to its official Facebook page to remember Michael’s time at the school. They ,

We are grieved to inform you that Michael Rosenau, an Instructional Assistant in the behavior program at Aumsville Elementary and a Cascade graduate, passed away this weekend from injuries sustained in an accident. Our thoughts are with his family and friends in this devastating time. The district will have a crisis team available for students and staff at school on Monday.

Megan Gunter, a certified Medical Assistant at St. Charles Medical Center, wrote,

RIP Michael Rosenau 😞
You were such a sweet soul who helped everyone. Even after high school I would see you around Salem, Turner and you would always say hi to me. It’s always the best people who were taken to soon but at least you were doing what you loved.

Other close ones and relatives have also offered their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Michael’s family to stay strong in this difficult time.

His family will soon reveal the funeral service schedule.
