BMX Rider Denzel Stein, aka The People’s Champ, was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident.
Denzel Stein was born on January 3, 1991, in DeSoto, Texas, to his mother, Sandra Melendez, and his father, whose identity has not been revealed.
He grew up along with his brother, Jeff Upshaw.
Stein DeSoto High School and later graduated from Texas Firefighters in 2013.
He is one of the best, fastest, and most popular riders in the AA Pro / Elite class.
Denzel Stein’s Life Was Involved In A Tragic Motorcycle Accident
The sources confirmed that Denzel Stein, a member of the BMX community, was caught in a tragic motorcycle accident on March 28, 2026.
However, the reason behind the tragic accident has not been revealed as the investigation is ongoing.
Brandon Shaw, Host/MC at Sun Bru, took to his official handle to announce that he is still in the ICU.
I just spoke to the family of Denzel Stein and he is in fact still in the ICU. I apologize I was given inaccurate information . This person is a very credible individual with nothing but the best intentions by the phone call made to me yesterday . I can see how the The wording received from the family to this person was easy to misinterpret.
Lisa Ni’Cole Roberson, a former customer service agent at the City of Dallas, Texas, wrote,
I understand everyone trying to show respect for Denzel please refrain from any RIP posts and reposting as respect kindly for his parents and kids. Denzel is still here just please don’t repost anything else. Not to be rude but it’s very sensitive right now. Prayers and miracles are possible just please pray that’s all. Thank you guys respectfully.

The BMX community lost one our best, Denzel Stein in a tragic motorcycle accident this past week in Dallas, Texas. Denzel was one of the BEST, fastest and most popular riders in the AA Pro / Elite class. He was a friend to us all and BMXers around the world send prayers and condolences to his family. RIP, brother! #bmxmaniaapproved
Moreover, the Melendez Family organized the fundraising campaign on to help the Stein family with the hospital bills.
In the campaign, it was announced that Stein’s condition has worsened and is not expected to survive.
The campaign aims to collect over $28k, and it has already collected around $26,692.
Other close ones and relatives have also sent their prayers for Stein’s fast recovery.
